We either make ourselves miserable or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same. Carlos Castenada
Your body is rebuilding and making itself stronger from the inside out. Can you love yourself so much that you turn the parts that you find ugly and unpleasant and difficult and painful into your most powerful assets? This is the time to cultivate your inner goddess. Self love happens in baby steps and through repitition. So ask yourself, “what do I like?” and “what feels good?” What does your ideal life look like? Remember that you are fabulous with or without the cast 💕💕💕
When the cast comes off what do you want your life to look like? Now is the time to think about your deepest desires and wishes for the future. The best way to define your goals is through a vision board. Jack Canfield, author of Chicken Soup for the Soul, and vision board pioneer says…
Your brain will work tirelessly to achieve the statements you give your subconscious mind. And when those statements are the affirmations and images of your goals, you are destined to achieve them!
With a vision board you can create your best life ever through pictures. What do you want for yourself? What are your dreams? Select images and phrases that represent your aspirations and then refer to the board every night before bed. This is a life changing activity according to Mr. Canfield…
The time you spend visualizing in the evening just before bed is especially powerful. The thoughts and images that are present in your mind during the last forty-five minutes before going to sleep are the ones that will replay themselves repeatedly in your subconscious mind through out the night, and the thoughts and images that you begin each day with will help you to create a vibrational match for the future you desire.
As some time goes by, and your dreams begin to manifest, look at those images that represent your achievements, and feel gratitude for how well the Law of Attraction is working in your life. Acknowledge that it is working. Don’t remove the pictures or images that represent the goals you’ve already achieved. Achievement of the goals in your vision board are powerful visual reminders of what you have already consciously and deliberately attracted into your life.
So how do we get started? Well, if you’re in an arm cast like me, cutting out pictures and gluing them to a poster board is not an option. I recommend signing up for a free account on Pinterest. You will be able to create public and private boards and have access to thousands of pictures for inspiration. There are also vision board apps for your phone or ipad.
If you’re in a cast I realize this may be a very frustrating time, but by taking simple steps like creating a vision board you can turn things around and create a fabulous, healthy life for yourself. Believe in the magic of the Universe!

Now that you’re injured it’s far more convenient to bring the party to you! This is a good time to celebrate the people in your life who have helped during your recovery. Invite friends over for cake and champs to show your appreciation for their support. No cooking required if you’re in an arm cast. Leg casted beauties, if you feel like baking the bundt cake recipes are courtesy of Dianna from The Kitchen Prep.
You Will Need…
- Store bought mini bundt cakes. If you can not find bundt cakes you can substitute with regular pound cake. If this seems too difficult then go to your favorite bakery and buy some cute cupcakes.
- Powdered sugar for glaze (not necessary if using cupcakes).
- Decorative sprinkles like sparkling sugar and sugar pearls (again, skip if using cupcakes).
- Champagne, sparkling white or prosecco.
- A sparkling non-alcoholic beverage (in case you’re still on pain meds).
- Garnish for the champs. Frozen raspberries are easy and colorful.
- Cute paper napkins, plates, and forks.
- Champagne flutes.
Bundt Cake Champagne Glaze:
- 1 cup of confectioners sugar.
- 2 tablespoons of champagne, sparkling white, or prosecco.
- Decorative sprinkles.
In a small bowl mix sugar and champagne until smooth. If mixture is too thick add a tad more champagne. For best results, try a thicker liquid that will stick to your cake. Drizzle or dip cakes in glaze to cover, then place on a cooling rack to let excess drip off. Apply decorative sprinkles like sparkling sugar and sugar pearls while glaze is still wet. Allow glaze to set slightly before serving. Note: if you’re using pound cake you can pour the glaze over the entire loaf or slice and drizzle glaze over individual slices.
Enjoy! This party can be thrown together at the last minute with minimal effort and maximum effect. For effortless meal ideas, check out our board on Pinterest….
This is not the day to throw a pity party for ourselves. No matter how bad it is for you, celebrate. Celebrate the fact that your body is healing. Celebrate the fact that you’re rebuilding yourself from the inside out. When this ordeal is over you will reemerge as a stronger and more beautiful version of you. Choose to feel fabulous.
